Priests, seminarians clash on the court

122225 priests semsCHARLOTTE — Clergy and those studying to join them in the priesthood took to the court of Charlotte Catholic High School Sunday afternoon for the second annual Priest vs.Seminarians basketball game. 

This time, the seminarians edged out the 44-41 victory in the close match. 

The priests were coached by Father Brian Becker, vocations promoter. The seminarians were coached by Chad McCormick, a seminarian at St. Joseph College Seminary from St. Lucien parish. 

Proceeds from the event benefited Holy Angels in Belmont, a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Mercy that provides care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Holy Angels is celebrating its 70th anniversary.
