041525 chrism insideHeld each year at the beginning of Holy Week, the Chrism Mass is a special liturgy where oils used in the Church’s sacred rituals and sacraments are consecrated and priests from across the Diocese of Charlotte attend this Mass to renew their promises and commitment to their ministry.

Bishop Michael Martin, OFM Conv. will bless three holy oils — Chrism, Catechumens, and Sick.

The Chrism Mass symbolizes the unity of the diocese and prepares sacramental oils used for baptism, confirmation, and holy orders.

This year's Mass will be celebrated at St. Mark Church in Huntersville on Tuesday, March 31 at 3 p.m.
