In honor of St. Maximilian Kolbe’s Aug. 14 feast day, watch a preview of “Triumph of the Heart,” the story of the heroic saint who is known for his profound Marian devotion and for giving up his life in the Auschwitz concentration camp so another man – a husband and father – could live. And don’t forget to mark your calendar for 8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30. At the Eucharistic Congress there will be a special showing with writer/director Anthony D’Ambrosio, who will share his powerful conversion story and how he was inspired to bring the Polish saint’s story to life for a new generation.
Time seems to slow down during the summer. Our daily schedules may be less hectic, families make the most of the school break, and we spend extra time with family and friends. It’s also a great time to celebrate the grandparents and the elderly in your life, and to devote some time to praying for the sick or learning more about one of the most overlooked sacraments in the Church: the sacrament of anointing.
