CONCORD — St. James the Greater Parish in Concord hosted a workshop dedicated to the connection between mental health and faith for the Hispanic community.
Hosted by the Concord chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, 82 people from youth to senior citizens spent Aug. 21-22 attending talks focused on emotional well-being, the importance of support and how faith and community can be sources of hope.
“Hope, Faith and Community: Paths to Healing” participants were guided by a group of nine female volunteers, five of whom attend St. Joseph Parish in Kannapolis or St. James the Greater in Concord.
Participants attended a resource fair and listened to presentations by mental health experts.
