Last month, the president signed into law the first federal school choice tax credit in our nation’s history. This new landmark legislation – led by Sens. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, Bill Cassidy, R-La., and Tim Scott, R-S.C. – was modeled on the Educational Choice for Children Act, which aimed to expand parental choice in education to an estimated 2 million children across the country.
In a momentous decision that has far-reaching implications for the future of public education and religious liberty in the United States, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Mahmoud v. Taylor that parents, not the state, hold the primary right to direct the upbringing and education of their children.
