Serving Christ and Connecting Catholics in Western North Carolina

101719 rosary rallyHUNTERSVILLE — For the second time this month, St. Mark Catholic Church held a very public prayer event in front of the church during a Bilingual Rosary Rally.

More than 60 parishioners came together at noon to unite with Catholics across the United States in our Catholic faith and ask for God¹s help through the intercession of His Blessed Mother. The rally was part of a nationwide Rosary Rally event organized by America Needs Fatima that coincides with the 99th anniversary of the last Fatima apparition.

In the Secret of the Rosary, Saint Louis de Montfort said "Public prayer is far more powerful than private prayer to appease the anger of God and call down His mercy, and Holy Mother Church— guided by the Holy Ghost — has always advocated public prayer in times of public tragedy and suffering.”

The marble statue was donated to the parish by the Sisters of Mercy at Sacred Heart Convent in Belmont.

After Mass, just over 500 people attended the parish’s Feast Day Festival and enjoyed interactive activities that were led by many of the parish ministries and groups.

The celebration was coordinated by the parish’s Stewardship Committee and the Parish Life Commission.
