FOREST CITY — On the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God Jan. 1, parishioners of Immaculate Conception Church prayed the consecration to the Holy Family after each Mass.
The prayer program was sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, who provided the Holy Family image that had been blessed by Pope Francis on June 29, 2015, the solemnity of Sts. Peter and Paul.
The order’s first prayer program was held in 1979 and it featured an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Americas. Father Herbert Burke, pastor, and Deacon Sigfrid Della Valle led the consecration to the Holy Family.
