CHARLOTTE — Two sisters with the Missionary Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus talk about life in the circus in this video.
The two women religious travel throughout the year ministering to the staff and performers with four different circuses that travel all over the United States. They told their story as they were traveling with the Ringling Circus as it passed through Charlotte, N.C., in January 2013.
The Catholic Church has a specific ministry devoted to traveling entertainers (the Circus and Traveling Shows Ministry) to ensure that the world of show people, even in their mobility, may be fully integrated into the life of the Church.
