CHARLOTTE -- The Very Reverend Mark Shuey of the Ukrainian Catholic Church will offer a weekend course on Eastern Catholicism July 27, and July 28, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Father Mark's presentation will focus on the Byzantine Rite and the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom – one of the Catholic Church's oldest liturgies. This presentation will help all rites of Catholics gain a greater understanding of the fullness of the Catholic faith, particularly the Liturgy.

Father Mark is a priest of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Saint Josaphat in Parma, Ohio. He is pastor of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Mission in Raleigh as well as St. Basil the Great Ukrainian Catholic Mission in Charlotte.

No registration is necessary. Just drop in at St. Vincent de Paul, located at 6828 Old Reid Road, Charlotte, for all or part of the weekend.

Fr. Mark will also celebrate Divine Liturgy at St. Basil the Great Ukrainian Catholic Mission on July 29, at the Charlotte Catholic High School chapel, located at 7702 Pineville Matthews Road, Charlotte.

Divine Office starts at 1:45 p.m. Divine Liturgy begins at 2 p.m. Fellowship will follow immediately after Divine Liturgy in the cafeteria.
